Naruto Proposes to Hinata

Nuptials are not really a very common sight when it comes to anime altogether. That is mainly why when an anime does go long enough to be able to talk about weddings and pairs, it also is generally when the battles are over, the dust has settled and a new chapter in the heroes lives are about to begin: one where love and happiness reigns without the heat of blood and battle.

After Naturo proposes to Hinata, their marriage was something like a gift that fans have been waiting for from Kishimoto. It wasn’t that they didn’t know it was going to happen, it was that they knew and that they wanted to see it happen and they did, at the very end of Naruto Shippuden.

Naruto does not explicitly propose to Hinata for marriage. Be that as it may we know that they did end up getting married by virtue of Boruto’s existence. We also know that a wedding did take place between them since the only canon and final movie of Naruto, “The Last: Naruto The Movie”, alludes to a marriage between them.

What episode does Naruto propose to Hinata after she confessed?

The relationship between Naruto and Hinata may have been obvious from the start but it was anything but simple. During the course of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, we actually never see either of them be assertive about their feelings; rather, they merely exhibit behavior that gives the fans hints about how they feel for one another.

Naruto also has several movies across the airing of its 26 seasons but the one movie relevant to the discussion of marriage in Naruto would be in the final movie of the franchise, “The Last: Naruto The Movie”.

This movie is actually dedicated to fleshing out the ins and outs and the dynamics of the relationship between Naruto and Hinata, how they first met, how their feelings grew for one another until eventually, these feelings culminated and manifested itself through an off-screen wedding between them.

Additionally, after the Great Shinobi War, Naruto and Hinata finally have time to process their emotions for one another and confess to one another. They end up marrying each other at the epilogue of Naruto Shippuden, much to the joy and chagrin of the fans worldwide.

Their marriage was a fitting end to the series filled with hardships and battles and it was incredibly satisfying to witness our heroes finally fall back into a peaceful life, enjoying the company of some who truly loved them.

As we have established, the relationship between Naruto and Hinata has never been fleshed out in the anime. Instead, it was fully fleshed out in the last movie of Naruto Shippuden. In the movie, we see a very intimate kissing scene of Naruto and Hinata as they reassure and confess their feelings for one another with a pale moon in the background as they lock lips. They also kiss one another as their wedding concludes and the credits begin rolling.

While it isn’t clear to fans how much time passed when Naruto was first made aware of his feelings for Hinata, there have been plenty of clues alluding to a marriage between the two by the end of the anime series. Canonically, Naruto and Hinata got married after the events of the Great Shinobi War and right before Kakashi took over the position of the Sixth Hokage.

Who Proposes to Hinata besides Naruto?

The one and only time we ever see Naruto compete for Hinata’s hand in marriage would be in the final movie of Naruto Shippuden where he would be up against Toneri who aims to use Hinata in order to revive his clan.

In the movie, we can see Hinata crying alone in a park where she is approached by Toneri who then aims to kidnap her but fails due to Naruto’s Interference. He then proclaims to Naruto that he will be back for her someday before he disappears.

After Hinata’s attempted abduction, she then discovers that her sister has gone missing and drafts a team to help her find her sibling. She is accompanied by Sakura, Sai, Shikamaru, and of course Naruto and makes their way into a cave with a glowing lake.

While the team makes their way through the lake, a puppet disguised as Taneri appears before Hinata and calls her by the moniker “Byakugan Princess” and asks for her hand in marriage, saying that she has a duty to help him revive the clan. This sequence is once again interrupted by Naruto and they soon regroup with the team to continue searching for Hinata’s sister.

If you want to see more details of what happens between Naruto and Hinata, then it might be a good idea to give the movie a chance since it is a movie meant to help viewers delve deeper into the relationship between the two as it culminates into them being wed to one another.
