Why is Pokemon SoulSilver So Expensive

Pokemon Gen II games are loved by many because they let players travel on both Johto and Kanto. And so, their remakes – Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver – were warmly received. The problem is that they are very expensive.

There is a high demand for Pokemon SoulSilver and its counterpart Pokemon HeartGold. That’s because they are rarer than other Pokemon games. And hence, their price is higher than the others.

Many consider HeartGold and SoulSilver the best Pokemon games. There’s plenty of content, so you will never get bored. Furthermore, these games have high replayability.

Why does SoulSilver cost so much?

It boils down to issues with demand and supply. More demand and less supply always lead to an expensive product.

DS games are no longer in production, which also adds to that. There’s an increasing demand, but the supply only gets lower and lower.

And not that SoulSilver had many copies, to begin with. In 2014, they reprinted Nintendo DS games for Southeast Asia and the Middle East market. However, SoulSilver and HeartGold were not included in that.

Why is Pokemon SoulSilver So Expensive

These are the reasons why SoulSilver is unusually expensive. If you are looking for one with Pokewalker, that’s even pricier.

Why are HeartGold and SoulSilver so expensive compared to other games in the series?

Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are rare. That alone makes them more valuable than other games. But there are a lot of other things that top that off.

Arguably, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are the best games in the series.

When Gen II (Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal) came out for the GameBoy Color, they immediately became fan favorites. That is because the games allowed players to travel to the previous region. So essentially, you get two games in one.

Furthermore, that was when Pokemon started adding more lore to the world. That is a huge step for the franchise.

Then came Gen IV and the Nintendo DS. Pokemon remade the Gen II games, and so, HeartGold and SoulSilver were born. Since these are beloved games but with better visuals and music, the love they received was to be expected.

And since two Pokemon Generations have passed since the original games, there were more things in these games. In fact, they are jam-packed with content. There are plenty of things to do.

SoulSilver and HeartGold also have unique charms that separate them from each other. On HeartGold, you go to the Bell Tower first. On the other hand, you go to the whirl islands first on SoulSilver.

That, along with version-exclusive Pokemon, made HeartGold more beginner-friendly. Meanwhile, SoulSilver is the primary choice for people who want to take on a challenge.

The bottom line is these two games are unique. So, there is a high demand for them, which far exceeds the supply. Therefore, these games are more expensive than the other games in the series.

In the original Generation II games, Kanto was pretty vacant. There’s nothing much to do except battle the gym leaders.

Buton SoulSilver that was improved. The pacing also saw an overhaul, making the games even better than the originals.

There’s also the Pokewalker. This pedometer shaped like a Pokeball can interact with the games.

You can transfer Pokemon to these, and they gain experience for every step that you take.
